On the occasion of National Start-up Day, an Interactive session on Start-up Ecosystem in India was jointly organized by ECH- Incubation Centre, University of Rajasthan and Let’s Start Centre, International Society for Life Sciences (ISLS) on January 16, 2024 under the directions of Prof. Sumita Kachhwaha, Coordinator, ECH- Incubation Centre. In this programme, Dr. Sheenu Jhawar, President, TiE Rajasthan and Dr. Atul Gupta, Director, Sunrise Agrofarms Pvt. Ltd. received floral welcome from Prof. Sumita Kachhwaha. During the session, Dr. Sheenu Jhawar discussed over the crucial role of unit economics, bootstrap, lean manufacturing, pivoting in establishing a successful start-up. She also told the audience that India stands third in the world in promoting entrepreneurship ecosystem in the world. Dr. Atul Gupta, during his talk stressed on the entrepreneurial mindset, flexibility and alertness as major factors contributing to the enterprising nature in an individual.
Prof. Sumita Kachhwaha, Coordinator introduced the entrepreneurship supporting schemes, programmes and competitions organized by ECH to support start-ups and entrepreneurs. Prof. Hemant Pareek, Coordinator, Let’s Start Centre, ISLS also told the students about their supporting programmes and internship opportunities for the youth to develop entrepreneurial mindset. Dr. Randhir Gajraj, Entrepreneur, Mentor explained about the entrepreneurial opportunities in food sector with special emphasis on algal foods, spirulina as medicine and food supplement.
This interaction with the eminent personalities of the start-up ecosystem was witnessed by more than 50 students, faculty, entrepreneurs, start-up founders from various disciplines from. The future possibilities of collaboration and MoU with TiE, Sunrise Agrofarms were also discussed to strengthen the entrepreneurship ecosystem of Rajasthan. Dr. Sunil Chhimpa, Dr. Abhimanyu Sharma, Ms. Jasmine Sethi, Mr. Deepak Kumar Sharma and Mr. Rakesh Chandra Kumawat played a crucial role in this session.
